Glenn Alan Bartels is a Harley guy from birth. A love for motorcycles is in his blood as the Bartels’ family of Los Angeles, California has been in the Harley-Davidson industry for over 30 years.

Seeing a need for Harley-Davidson motorcycle rentals, in 1994, Glenn Alan took his five personal, custom Harleys to pioneer the Harley-Davidson Rental world.

Today, 20 some years later, Bartels’ Route 66 carries over 150 late model Harley’s and Indian motorcycles for rent to the public, as well as movie production studios. Their clientele is predominantly European tourists here to become cowboys in the wild, wild, west, as well as local, weekend motorcycle enthusiasts.

Bartels’ also has a large celebrity clientele, including former California Governator Arnold Schwarzenegger, NBC Tonight Show Host Jay Leno, Bruce Springsteen, Steven Tyler, Bob Dylan, George Clooney, Mel Gibson, John Travolta, Bruce Willis, Peter Fonda and the list goes on.

From HOGS to MODS: “Scooters weren’t even on my radar scope until I started traveling to Europe at the turn of the Century. After nearly dying riding in Rome on a friend’s ‘59 Vespa GS, I fell in love with these Italian machines

Coming back to the U.S. and once again seeing a need that wasn’t being met, scooter sales sparked the beginning of Glenn’s second business, Route 66 Modern Classics, and becoming the guru of all things scooter.

Glenn adds, “I’ve gone from being a Harley Rocker to a scooter Mod.”
